After graduation from IUP, I attended Penn State where I also taught as a grad assistant in the Spanish Dept. while I worked on a Masters and Phd. I taught at Juniata College, Drew University and Rutgers, but changed careers and became a banker, starting out in the LatinAmerican division of Chemical Bank. Fast forward 30 years, I now work in Risk Management at JPMorgan,. Over the years, I've gotten to Spain often, most recently in 2004 and 2007, when my husband and I rented casas rurales in Villafuerte de Esgueva and Zaratan. The house where I lived in Valladolid in 1967 on the Calle Angustias has been replaced by a new building that houses the Colegio de Abogados. The city is so changed, with new neighborhoods on the other side of the river that were campo abierto back in the day. Padova isn't there, but the Plaza Mayor and La Antigua bring back fond memories of a life changing experience.
